A bequest is simple, convenient and revocable. It may be changed if you desire. Specific bequests are used to make a gift of a specific dollar amount or assets. Residuary bequests are used to give a portion of your estate to a charity after payment of expenses and any specific amounts designated to other beneficiaries. A bequest can be made for unrestricted use or for a specific purpose of the donor’s designation.
